Everyone has dreams. No matter how big or small, how conventional or outrageous…each and every one of us has that one wish of ultimate accomplishment, achievement, and, in turn, satisfaction. This line of thinking runs deep for aspiring singers, songwriters, and musicians, trying to break into one of the most exclusive industries amongst some of the most talented people in the world.
So how does one make it in the music business nowadays? Simple…you need a lot of talent, a little luck, hard work, and a lot of ambition. Ok so maybe it’s not that easy, but what has held some hopeful artists back from moving forward is the fear of risk-taking…taking a chance and coming up short…leaving everything you once knew behind you and going after your dream, with everything to lose and no backup plan. That is how someone follows his/her dream.
That’s what makes someone like Tiffany Houghton so inspiring. With a brand new EP, new single, and more music in the works, it looks like this beautiful singer-songwriter is well on her way to stardom. And while she’s always had an eye for performing and singing, she took an unprecedented risk to get to where she is today.
Growing up in Dallas, Texas, she was always writing, singing, and performing from a very early age. Her love (and talent) for the performing arts led her to relocate to New York, where she was cast as an alternate to play Annie on Broadway, as well as landing a role on the television soap opera, “As The World Turns.”
As the years went on, Tiffany held lead roles in musicals during her high schools, and had sung national anthems at Dallas Mavericks and Texas Rangers games. Having realized that, as she says, her “home and heart were in Nashville,” she graduated high school early, and, neglecting her plans to attend a performing arts school to which she had already been accepted, packed her bags and moved to Music City.
And now, after the trials and tribulations that a young singer-songwriter faces working her way through the beginnings of a music career, Houghton has released her self-titled debut EP, led by her first single, “Only One.” The song, now available on iTunes, is a breakup anthem featuring an irresistibly catchy beat and musical maturity reminiscent of an industry veteran.
She’s right…a lot of people have been relating to it…and Tiffany Houghton is creating quite a buzz in Nashville and the country music community. She wrote and produced all six tracks on her debut release, showcasing her musical intelligence and creativity to coincide with her undeniable vocal range and flexibility.
So now that she’s made the trip to Nashville, landed on her feet after a few bumps in the road, and has an official collection of music out in the digital retail universe, Tiffany still hasn’t lost that ambition, that drive to continue to chase her dreams. While the singing and songwriting talent are a huge part of where she is today, it’s her steadfast desire to keep moving forward with her career that puts her elite company with few other up-and-coming artists.
