FINALLY! It’s that time of year again when tens of thousands of country music-obsessed fans flood the streets of downtown Nashville to witness some of the best performances and special events the genre has to offer. We are just two days away from the CMA Music Festival, which has nabbed as the ultimate country music experience: a perfect description for perfect week in Music City.
Even though the festival doesn’t officially kick off until Thursday, dozens of events are happening over the next two days, serving as “unofficial official” ignitions for the week.
For the past few weeks, we here at MCE have been filling you in on the countless number of events, performances, autograph signings, and fan club parties that make the CMA Music Festival truly one of a kind. In no other genre are the fans able to get this up close and personal with their favorite stars, and through various sponsorships and partnerships with some of the biggest companies in the world, the Country Music Association has been able to donate monumental amounts of money and assistance to charities as well as provide special opportunities for fans of limited means and abilities to enjoy the music festival in Nashville.
From a musical standpoint alone, “Fan Fair” is the biggest and best of its kind, with literally hundreds of country bands and musicians on hand signing autographs, playing unplugged intimate sets, full-blown concerts, and everything in between. When considering the access fans have to some of the biggest and best country music stars in the industry, this truly is the ultimate country music experience.
For those who have been unable to make the trip to Nashville for CMA Fest, ABC has aired a television special in September each year for the past seven years, recapping the festival’s best performances and unforgettable moments. This year has been no different, as the feature will air on ABC Monday, September 17. As it has been in previous years, the special will be called “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night To Rock,” and will be hosted this year by Luke Bryan and The Band Perry’s Kimberly Perry.

In terms of performances, CMA Fest is unlike any other, highlighted by the daytime performances at the Riverfront Park stage, and headlined by the nightly concerts at L.P. Field. This year’s performers include Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood, and MANY more.
