No question about it…with all of the new records hitting shelves and iPods in recent months, it’d be easy to overlook some high quality releases. Without a doubt, though, emerging from the rest of the field are two of the more anticipated albums of the year…from Gary Allan and Big & Rich.
For Allan, this will be his first release since 2010’s ‘Get Off On The Pain,’ and, after rumors of being nearly completed, he formally announced recently that the record’s lead single, “A Tough Goodbye,” is completed and will be impacting radio airwaves soon. According to Gary himself, this album is a direct reflection of where he is in his life right now, from the songwriting straight through to the production.
So what can we expect from a musical standpoint?
Without a doubt, he’s been testing some of the new tunes out on live audiences during his run on the Country Throwdown Tour. But if this album is as “up” as he describes, this would once again serve as another alteration in the Gary Allan sound. And, given his process before, during and after record production…it’s no wonder his focus shifts from tempo to tempo.
No confirmed release date has been slated for the new record…but again, the lead single is called “A Tough Goodbye.”
And while Gary Allan hasn’t offered a new collection of music in two years, it’s been over five years for the boys of Big & Rich. But that’s all about to change soon, as the duo of Big Kenny and John Rich are set to release their brand new album, ‘Hillbilly Jedis.’ While there’s been no confirmed release date for the record, the lead single, “That’s Why I Pray,” is climbing the charts now.
The more we learn about this album, the better it sounds. In fact, they have partnered with Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora on the new record, writing and playing songs, and even collaborating in the studio as well.
That’s right…the boys of Bon Jovi came up with the title of the new album. We can’t wait to hear it. We’ll let you know as soon as a release date and other details are made available.
