It’s hard to believe Thanksgiving and the rest of the holiday season are just a matter of weeks ahead of us.  But for any country music fans that are having trouble getting into the holiday spirit, some of the biggest stars will be helping to ring in the holidays fall and winter.

The third installment of the CMA Country Christmas was taped earlier this week, and based on everything we’ve seen/heard, it’s going to be the best show yet.

The television special, hosted by Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland, will air on Thursday, December 20 at 9:00pm ET on ABC, with repeat airs on Saturday, December 22 at 9:00pm ET and Sunday, December 23 at 4:00pm ET.  The air dates are considerably later than the event’s first two years, which drew over 17 million viewers between the two premieres.

This year’s CMA Country Christmas special will once again feature country music stars performing some holiday classics while also sharing their own personal stories and traditions.  Artists to be featured on the two-hour event include Dierks Bentley, Colbie Caillat, Katherine Jenkins, Lady Antebellum, John Legend, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Scotty McCreery, Nettles, The Band Perry, and Keith Urban.

Country music stars will also be featured as part of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  The event, as it has for years, will air live on NCB beginning at 9:00am ET on November 22, and will feature country music stars Trace Adkins and Jennette McCurdy.  Over three million people are expected to attend the parade, which will also feature Carly Rae Jepsen, Flo Rida, Neon Trees, Cody Simpson, and more.

And as always, music collections will once again be a huge part of the holiday season.  Average Joe’s Entertainment will release their first holiday collection this year.  ‘An Average Joes Muddy Christmas’ is now available at Walmart, Best Buy, FYE and online retailers, featuring classics and original songs from the label’s artists.

Tracks include “Home For Christmas” by Colt Ford, “Merry Christmas From The Family” by Montgomery Gentry, “Do You Heart What I Hear?” by Josh Gracin, and “What Time Is It?” by the LoCash Cowboys.  Other featured artists on the collection include The LACS, John Anderson, Bo Bice, and Matt Stillwell.
